The Concept of Eco-Friendly Agriculture

Eco-friendly agriculture aims to improve environmental quality by conserving natural resources, maintaining ecosystems and producing agricultural products sustainably. It emphasizes the continuity of agricultural production, environmental conservation, food production and the quality of agricultural products. It includes organic agriculture, low-input agriculture and sustainable agriculture. Under international Codex criteria, organic agriculture is a holistic farming system that promotes the health of agricultural ecosystems, biodiversity, biological cycles and soil biological activity.

The Objectives of Eco-Friendly Agriculture

Objectives of organic agriculture: economic objectives, social objectives and ecological objectives. Economic objectives include economic viability, maintaining economic vitality, added value, a farming work environment, low inputs, sufficient and sustained production, minimizing external inputs, and using local resources. Social objectives include fair trade, a secure food supply, meeting local needs, the role of women, respect for local society and culture, safe agricultural products, and excellent taste and quality. Ecological objectives include ecosystem balance, prevention of chemical contamination, improved soil fertility, clean water, conservation of natural resources, biodiversity and consideration of animal welfare.
